Installation and app setup are separate decisions
Installed smart-lock options include their stated standard installation. For compatible wall and water-heater switches, you can add professional replacement installation while configuring; the displayed fee updates with the selected switch quantity.
Other electrical work, rewiring, hacking, painting, lighting repairs, app setup and configuration remain separate unless the selected product or quoted scope states otherwise.
DIY smart home configurator questions
Do I need to know whether my switches have neutral wires?
No. The switch step explains the choice and offers a safe ‘No / Not sure’ path that filters out switches requiring neutral wiring.
Does the configurator include installation?
Installation depends on what you select. Installed smart-lock products include their stated standard installation, and professional switch replacement can be added in the switch steps. Other electrical, building and setup work is separate unless explicitly stated.
How do I know which Aqara hub I need?
Choose your devices first. The hub-check step reviews their connectivity and any hub-capable cameras or controllers already selected before recommending what remains.
Can I save the configuration and continue later?
Yes. Your choices are encoded in the configuration link, and the summary can email a saved link to you. No customer account is required.
