All in one place.

Compatibility, placement, platforms and what each optional sensor really changes. If your aircon is unusual, a photo of its remote is still the fastest way to check.

Compatibility and everyday control

Start here if you are deciding whether M200 suits the aircon already in your home.

01Will M200 work with my aircon?+

M200 is designed for air-conditioners controlled by an infrared handheld remote. That includes the major split-unit brands used in Singapore. If your model or remote is unusual, send HomeSmart a photo before buying and we will help you check.

02Do I have to replace the original remote?+

No. Everyone can keep using it. M200 can receive compatible infrared commands from the physical remote and update the aircon state recorded in Aqara Home, while also adding app, schedule, automation and voice control.

03How many M200s do I need?+

Plan one M200 for every room you want to control independently. Infrared does not travel through walls, so each unit needs to be in the same room as the aircon it controls.

04Can I control the aircon while I am away?+

Yes, while M200 and your home internet are online. You can check the recorded state and send commands from Aqara Home, so the room can be cooling before you arrive instead of running empty all afternoon.

Setup, connectivity and smart-home platforms

The practical details: placement, internet, subscriptions and the platforms you can speak to.

05Does installation need wiring or an aircon technician?+

No. Power M200, place it in the same room with a clear infrared path to the indoor unit, then use Aqara Home to match and test the remote controls. Nothing is wired into the aircon.

06Does it need a monthly subscription?+

No. The core remote control, schedules, scenes and eligible local automations described here do not require a HomeSmart or Aqara subscription.

07Can I use Apple Home, Google Home or Alexa?+

Yes. M200 supports Matter and can expose compatible devices to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant. Once added to your chosen platform, you can use its phone, tablet or compatible smart speaker for voice commands.

08What happens if the internet goes down?+

Eligible Aqara automations can continue to execute locally through M200. Away control, cloud notifications and internet-dependent platform services will naturally wait for the connection to return.

09Does M200 work on both Wi-Fi bands?+

Yes. M200 supports Wi-Fi 6 on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. It can also use wired Ethernet with Power over Ethernet if that suits the room better.

Sensors and useful automations

M200 controls the aircon. Optional sensors give it better reasons to act.

10What does Climate Sensor W100 add?+

It measures temperature and humidity where you actually sit or sleep. In Zigbee mode with M200, its reading can become an Aqara automation condition, so comfort follows the occupied part of the room rather than the aircon's ceiling-level sensor.

11Why choose FP300 over a less expensive motion sensor?+

Most lower-cost motion sensors rely on PIR: they are good at noticing someone walk into a room, but can time out when that person sits, reads or sleeps. FP300 combines PIR with 60GHz mmWave occupancy sensing, plus light, temperature and humidity. You are paying for stronger evidence that someone is still present, which makes an empty-room aircon rule much less likely to interrupt them.

12What can Door and Window Sensor T1 do for the aircon?+

It can report when a window opens so an Aqara automation tells M200 to stop cooling. You can add a delay or require the window to remain open, and keep any restart as a separate rule so the aircon does not resume unexpectedly.

13Do I need every sensor in every room?+

No. Add the signal that brings the most useful convenience to that room. A bedroom may benefit from W100, a room where cooling often runs while empty from FP300, and a room with often-open windows from Sensor T1.

14Can one automation use more than one condition?+

Yes. Aqara's WHEN-IF-THEN rules can combine useful conditions. For example: when presence is detected, if the room is warm and the window is closed, then ask M200 to start cooling.

Buying and local support

What comes after choosing the hardware.

15Can HomeSmart help me choose before I buy?+

Yes. Send us a photo of the remote and explain the rooms or routine you want to improve. You can also visit HomeSmart at 24 Keong Saik Road, open 10am–7pm daily.

16What support and warranty are included?+

The products on this microsite include free islandwide delivery, GST-inclusive pricing and a 2-year local HomeSmart warranty, backed by a Singapore support team.

17Can I start small and add sensors later?+

Yes. Begin with one M200 and one useful routine. Add W100, FP300 or Sensor T1 later when you know which convenience would actually improve that room.
