Models and remotes
Model families narrow the search. The remote completes it because one family can ship with different handsets across years and capacities.

A common earlier-generation family still installed in many homes.
Single-room Starmex systems using a handheld infrared remote.

Look for the model code on the back of the handheld LCD remote.
Mitsubishi Electric remote families include codes such as KM05B and KM09A; the indoor-unit model is the stronger identifier.
Send us one clear photo of the remote front and one of its rear label for a pre-order check.
Control coverage
M200 sends compatible commands and tracks recorded state. It does not receive native operating confirmation from the aircon.

|---|---|---|
| Power | On and off | Available when the matched profile supports the command |
| Temperature | Set the target temperature | Range follows the matched profile |
| Mode | Cool, dry, fan, auto or heat | Only modes present on the aircon and profile appear |
| Fan and swing | Fan levels and supported swing controls | Brand-specific airflow functions can remain on the original remote |
| Schedules | Aqara schedules, scenes and Automations 2.0 | Internet is still needed for away access and cloud notifications |
| Voice and home apps | Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa through Matter | Exact controls and labels vary by platform |
| Original remote | Compatible remote commands can update M200's recorded state | M200 records the observed command without native two-way confirmation from the aircon |
iThis guide covers Mitsubishi Electric Starmex. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is a separate product family and should be checked separately.

iA wired wall controller does not provide the infrared path described on this page.
OEM WiFi option
Mitsubishi Electric's MyME route uses the official MAC-597IF-EM WiFi interface on compatible Starmex indoor units. M200 is the infrared route. The right choice depends on the type of feedback and smart-home system you want.
| Decision | Aqara M200 | Mitsubishi MyME module |
|---|---|---|
| Connection | Sits in the room and sends infrared commands to the aircon. | Connects inside each compatible indoor unit through the official interface. |
| Status model | Tracks commands it sends and compatible original-remote commands as recorded state. | Communicates through the indoor unit. Mitsubishi notes that physical-remote changes can take up to five minutes to appear in MyME. |
| Hardware per room | One S$149 M200 per room. Plug-in setup with no aircon installer. | One official interface per controlled indoor unit, with hardware and installation quoted by the dealer. |
| Smart-home access | Aqara Home plus Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa through Matter. | MyME app. Mitsubishi Electric currently states that MyME does not work with Google Home or Alexa. |
Choose the official interface when direct indoor-unit integration is the priority. Choose M200 when Matter, Aqara automations and a plug-in retrofit are more useful.

Mitsubishi Starmex FAQ
Check the model and remote before ordering. Five minutes now avoids guessing during setup.
M200 is intended for infrared remote-controlled split systems, including the Starmex families listed above. The final check happens in Aqara Home by matching the profile and testing power, temperature, mode and fan commands against the actual indoor unit.
They use different control paths. The official MAC-597IF-EM interface connects to a compatible indoor unit and uses MyME. M200 stays in the room and sends infrared commands, then can bridge the aircon to Matter platforms.
Yes. M200 can detect compatible commands from the original remote and update its recorded state in Aqara Home. M200 records the observed command. The aircon provides no native two-way confirmation.
Use one M200 in each room you want to control. Infrared does not pass through walls, so a three-bedroom setup normally uses three M200 hubs.
