Infrared sends a complete command.

A typical aircon remote sends the selected power, mode, temperature and fan state in one infrared message. The controller records that command and shows the result it expects.

  1. 01
    App state

You choose the settings in the controller app.

  2. 02
    Infrared command

The controller sends the matching remote code across the room.

  3. 03
    Recorded result

The app records the command. A conventional aircon sends no native confirmation back.

Short answers.

Start with the aircon remote, then choose the ecosystem and sensing model you want around it.

01Is Aqara M200 better than Sensibo Air?+

They suit different systems. M200 is a stronger fit for Aqara sensors, Matter platforms and local Singapore support. Sensibo Air is a focused climate controller with temperature and humidity sensing built in.

02Do M200 and Sensibo provide true two-way aircon feedback?+

Both products control a conventional aircon through infrared. Their apps maintain a control state. The aircon itself sends no native operating confirmation back through that infrared path.

03Does Sensibo need a subscription?+

No subscription is required for basic use. Sensibo sells an optional Energy Saver Plan for additional analytics, optimisation and protection features.

04Does Aqara M200 need a subscription?+

No. HomeSmart's M200 setup has no monthly fee for Aqara Home control, schedules, automations or Matter bridging.

05Which controller works with Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa?+

M200 bridges common aircon controls to Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa through Matter. Sensibo Air publishes direct integrations for Apple HomeKit or Siri, Google Home and Alexa. Available controls vary by platform and aircon profile.
