What this product actually changes.

Exploded view of the Door and Window Sensor T101

Two small parts, one unambiguous signal.

The sensor body and magnet sit next to one another when the window is closed. Move them apart and T1 reports a straightforward open state to M200. The sensor contains no camera or microphone.

  • Maximum closed alignment gap of 22mm
  • A high-precision reed switch detects open and closed states
  • One CR1632 battery lasts more than two years in typical use

Small enough to disappear onto the frame.

At only 41mm long, T1 fits neatly on many HDB window and door frames. Align the marks, clean the surface, peel the adhesive and press each half into place.

  • No electrician, cable or drilling required
  • Works on doors, windows, drawers and cabinets
  • Open/close history remains visible in Aqara Home

A fast rule with an obvious purpose.

Pair T1 to M200 and use its state as an automation trigger. An open window can stop cooling; a closed window can notify you or make the room eligible to cool again on your terms.

  • Immediate open and close events over Zigbee
  • Eligible rules run locally on the Aqara hub
  • Use a deliberate close-window rule rather than blindly restarting the aircon

This is the cleanest waste-prevention rule in the setup.

T1 tells M200 that the window has opened. M200 can then send the aircon's off command without waiting for someone to notice cold air escaping.

  1. 01

    The two halves separate

Opening the window changes T1 from closed to open.

  2. 02

    M200 receives the Zigbee event

The hub evaluates the local rule immediately.

  3. 03

    Cooling stops

M200 sends the aircon's infrared off command in the same room.

Compatibility, placement and setup.

What you need

  • A clean, dry mounting surface with both halves aligned when closed
  • No more than 22mm between the sensor and magnet in the closed position
  • Enough flat surface for both adhesive-backed halves, including on an aluminium frame
i

Good to know

  • Check the 22mm closed-gap limit and alignment before removing the adhesive backing.
  • Pair and test open/close updates in the exact position before committing the adhesive.
  • For safety and comfort, we recommend an explicit notification or condition before automatically restarting cooling after a window closes.

From placement to a working open-window rule.

  1. 01

    Choose the opening

Decide which half sits on the fixed frame and which moves with the window, keeping the closed gap below 22mm.

  2. 02

    Pair and test the signal

Add T1 to the room's M200, hold it in the intended position and confirm that Aqara Home follows each open and close.

  3. 03

    Clean, align and mount

Dry both surfaces, line up the marks and press each adhesive-backed half firmly into place.

  4. 04

    Build the open-window rule

Use the open state to switch off that room's aircon, with any delay or notification you prefer.

Straight answers about Door & Window Sensor T1.

01Can it turn the aircon off by itself?+

T1 detects the open state. M200 is the hub that runs the rule and sends the infrared off command to your aircon, so both products are needed for that automation.

02Will it fit my window?+

The two halves must align when closed and remain within 22mm of each other. Uneven frames can often work with careful positioning, but test before peeling the adhesive.

03Can I mount it on aluminium?+

Yes. T1 can be mounted on an aluminium frame. Clean and dry the surface, confirm the two halves align within 22mm when closed, and test open/close updates before peeling the adhesive backing.

04Should the aircon restart when I close the window?+

It can be automated, but we prefer a more deliberate rule: notify you, or restart only if the room is occupied, warm and within an allowed schedule. That avoids surprising starts.
