For cooling only when someone is really there

It knows you are there—even when you are still.

FP300 combines PIR motion sensing with 60GHz mmWave presence detection, plus light, temperature and humidity. The result is a more nuanced empty-room signal that can recognise someone sitting quietly.

What this product actually changes.

FP300 detecting a person entering a room01

Presence detection that keeps track of a quiet room.

PIR responds quickly when someone walks in. FP300 adds 60GHz radar to detect much smaller signs of stationary presence, so a person reading or working can remain part of the room's automation state.

  • Detects both movement and stationary presence
  • Up to 6m coverage with a 120° field of view
  • Adjustable range, sensitivity and absence delay in Aqara Home
Close-up of the FP300 presence multi-sensor and its magnetic mount02

Presence, light and climate in one tidy device.

Alongside PIR and mmWave, FP300 reports ambient light, temperature and humidity. You can require more than one condition before starting or stopping a routine.

  • Use temperature and humidity as additional comfort conditions
  • Use ambient light to avoid unnecessary lighting routines
  • Build an aircon rule around presence plus time or climate
FP300 and its adjustable magnetic bracket03

Aim it from the wall, ceiling or corner.

Two replaceable coin cells remove the need for a power point. Its multi-axis magnetic mount lets you tune the angle, including a 45° corner position for broad coverage.

  • Up to three years of rated battery life in Zigbee mode
  • Wall, ceiling, corner or suitable magnetic surface
  • No permanent wiring or USB cable across the room

It gives an empty-room rule the evidence it needs.

Use FP300 with M200 in Zigbee mode to stop cooling after the room has genuinely been empty for a period you choose. Combine presence with a schedule or temperature condition so the rule behaves predictably.

  1. 01

    FP300 confirms presence

PIR catches movement while mmWave looks for the smaller signs of someone remaining in the room.

  2. 02

    Your absence delay protects comfort

Wait five, ten or fifteen minutes instead of reacting to one quiet moment.

  3. 03

    M200 stops unnecessary cooling

The local automation sends the appropriate infrared command to the room's aircon.

Compatibility, placement and setup.

What you need

  • For this aircon setup, select Zigbee mode and pair it to Hub M200
  • Two CR2450 batteries
  • A stable mounting position with a clear view of the occupied zone
  • A short learning and tuning period for sensitivity, range and absence delay
i

Good to know

  • FP300 is still a sensor, not the aircon controller; M200 sends the infrared commands.
  • Use a reasonable absence delay. Even strong presence sensing should not switch the aircon off the instant a signal changes.
  • Thread and Zigbee are alternative modes. Use Zigbee with M200 for the Aqara setup described here.

Four sensible setup steps.

  1. 01

    Choose the occupied zone

Aim across the sofa, bed or desk rather than at a doorway alone.

  2. 02

    Pair in Zigbee mode

Add FP300 to the room's M200 through Aqara Home.

  3. 03

    Tune and learn

Set the range and let spatial learning filter curtains, fans and other background motion.

  4. 04

    Add a conservative delay

Begin with ten minutes before switching off; shorten it only after the room behaves reliably.

Straight answers about Presence Sensor FP300.

01How is this different from a motion sensor?+

A PIR motion sensor mainly notices movement. FP300 combines PIR with mmWave radar, which can detect smaller signs of stationary presence. That makes it more suitable for a sofa, desk or bedroom.

02Will it turn the aircon off while I am sleeping?+

It is designed to detect stationary presence better than a normal PIR sensor, but placement and tuning still matter. Start with a generous absence delay and test the room before relying on the rule overnight.

03Does it need a power cable?+

No. It runs on two replaceable CR2450 batteries and can be mounted without a nearby socket.

04Where should I mount it?+

Give it a clear view across the occupied zone. A 45° corner placement can maximise coverage; avoid pointing it mainly at curtains, fans or a busy corridor outside the room.
