The Homesmart.sg Aqara G4 is a unique video doorbell that can be wired or battery- powered. It is also the first battery-powered option to work with Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video and supports streaming to Google and Alexa smart displays, featuring local AI used for facial recognition alerts, automations, and much more.
The Homesmart.sg Aqara G4 consists of an external doorbell unit that can be wired or battery-powered, and a USB-C powered internal chime that acts as a wifi repeater or bridge.
- Chime requires a USB adapter (e.g. phone charger) (not included).
- Doorbell unit requires 12-24V wiring (not included), or 6x AA batteries (included).
Wide Compatibility, including Apple HomeKit Secure Video
This is the world’s first battery-based HomeKit Secure Video doorbell*. Security with HomeKit Secure Video. Video analysis and notifications happen on your Apple devices, such as iPad, Phone, Apple TV. Everything is encrypted before it’s stored in Apple’s iCloud. Besides, it can integrate audio and video with Google and Alexa.
- To control this HomeKit-enabled accessory, the latest version of IOS or iPadOS is recommended. HomeKit Secure Video requires a supported iCloud+ plan and a HomePod mini, HomePod, Apple TV, or iPad set up as a home hub. It is recommended that you update to the latest software and operating system.
Local AI Face Recognition
The built-in local face algorithm is the biggest advantage of the Aqara doorbell. It can help people quickly know the identity of the person outside the door by remarking the name of the specified face and push notification via the app, or set different automations* based on the specific person. Even if the network is disconnected sometimes, the recognition function will not be affected.
* To achieve the automation, and link with other smart devices, you need to purchase an additional Aqara Hub.
On-demand Video and Two-Way Talk
Answer the outdoors from anywhere. Or see and talk live from your smartphone, whether you are at home or on the other side of the world, it seems you are alway at home.When a visitor comes, the APP pushes a reminder, and you can check the situation outside the door by video at any time, have a conversation or check.Thanks to the 162° super wide-angle field of view +1080p HD Video + full glass (4 Glass) lens of the Homesmart.sg Aqara G4, it can display video more clearly and stably. What’s more? G4 is suitable for outdoor use, thanks to the higher ambient temperature (cold/hot) stability and the IPX3 waterproof level.
- The Video Doorbell G4 is recommended to be installed on a porch or in other shaded areas.
Free Cloud and Local Storage
The Homesmart.sg Aqara G4 knows how to save money for you, but still provides a good storage experience– 7 days of free cloud storage, which is equivalent to saving for you up to $60 per year on subscription fees. And the indoor chime of G4 provides the local MicroSD card (not included) storage option, which is safer and more convenient. In the future, we also plan to launch NAS storage to provide more options for our users.
- iCloud or other supported third-party cloud storage is not included, and should be controlled separately via the respective app.
Battery and Wired 2-in-1
If you want long-term power supply, choose wired power supply. If the door is not suitable for wired power installation, choose battery power supply. Also, you can wire the G4 to a transformer, and the batteries will only be used in case of power outage! And its 6-battery pack lets it be used for up to 4 months*. In addition to being powered by detachable AA batteries, the G4 doorbell can also be powered by an external power supply of 12-24V AC or DC, which can meet the installation requirements of most users.
- The calculation assumes 35 device wake-ups and 6-second event video recording a day.
Chime-Repeater Included
The Homesmart.sg Aqara Doorbell G4 comes with an indoor WIFI chime. Throw away your phone at home, or let the indoor chime serve you in your home, which is up to 95 dB. Ensure that your network is stable, and you can continue to work even if the network is suddenly disconnected. Also it supports MicroSD card storage (not included) of up to 512GB to store doorbell video in Chime indoor, which cannot be stolen easily.
Voice Changing Option
The Homesmart.sg Aqara Doorbell G4 has a unique voice-changing dialogue technology. It is special in the video doorbell category. Users can change the voice of the intercom audio to uncle voice, robot voice, and clown voice, which can better protect the user’s privacy and identity.
Support Do Not Disturb Mode
Users can customize the ringing period and ringing volume of the doorbell. When the Do Not Disturb mode is turned on, even if someone maliciously rings the bell in the middle of the night, users still can sit back and relax.
Personalized Custom Ringtones
Supports users to upload personalized custom ringtones as the sound of the doorbell, which can be automatically configured to play on the outdoor doorbell or indoor repeater, and realize automatic linkage configuration, such as identifying strangers and broadcasting on the outdoor doorbell “Tom is not at home, please come back tomorrow”.
Various Abnormal State Alarms
When the doorbell is forcibly disassembled, the outdoor ambient temperature is abnormally high/low temperature, the people stay at the door, the battery power is low, etc., the alarm state can be flexibly configured to remind the owner to pay attention to the safety status of the door and the working condition of the equipment.
Set Masking Area
Privacy protection can be set for up to 3 designated areas in the screen. After setting, the designated areas in the live screen and video screen will be blocked, which can protect the privacy of neighbors.This function is fully considered for users living in apartment buildings.

Really like the integration with Apple Home! This is the doorbell I’ve been waiting for. Even went to the trouble of providing for power to my doorbell, no regrets cos I think it’s faster and I don’t need to keep changing batteries. Video opens quickly on my iPhone and I like being able to talk to visitors with my iWatch! The sound quality can be better, but that’s a minor qualm for such a good product!

Love this doorbell but there seems to be a design flaw… It’s very hard to access the screw on the side because my doorbell is mounted with the wedge to point the correct direction… Will need to remove the wedge mount or get some special tool

I like the integration into HomeKit. The install and setup instructions are not great, but if you have setup any Aqara HomeKit device, that part of the process is the same. The setup went better than I expected. The info on using it wired is sparse. You have an AC and DC voltage range and two screws pointed out. Since I was replacing an existing video doorbell, that part went fine, but if it was my first one, I think I would have been more concerned. You can have batteries installed as a backup and have it wired. When the device is wired, it automatically switches to using that. If power goes out, it will switch back to battery. I am not sure what good that is since everything else connecting it will go out (unless your system is on a UPS). Overall I am pleased and would buy again.

Installation was straightforward. For your info, you do not need the Aqara Hub to setup or function. Hope there is a feature to disable ‘detect person’ everytime someone walk pass the door. So far, I am pleased with the product.

Sometimes the video doesn’t capture anybody if they walk past too fast. Beats the purpose of having this monitoring camera. Hope there will be a fix for this.

Working well until recently (2 weeks ago), device unable to connect to network and battery drain very fast. Chimer did not sound when first press on the doorbell, I’ve got to press 2/3 times to get the chimer to sound. Not sure what’s the issue, tried contacting homesmart WhatsApp but to no avail. Apart from that, the first 5 months using the device has been great.

Got my contractor to wire this up for me so I don’t have to use batteries. Works great! The response time is very fast and I like the homekit notifications. Make sure you put the chime as close as you can near the door, good thing I have a powerpoint right behind my door area.
