AI-Powered Camera with All-Round Compatibility, Controls, and Camera Functions

A Superbly Capable Camera

360° Pan and Tilt. 2K Resolution. Type-C Port. 5GHz Wifi.

The Aqara G3 Camera Hub boasts all the features you’ll ever need. Its 110° wide-angle lens is coupled with pan and tilt motors to provide 360° viewing angles. It has a crystal clear 2304 x 1296 pixel sensor for high-resolution videos bursting with detail. It also features a Type-C USB port that not only provides power – but also supports high-definition video output via UVC protocol.

Connectivity is compatible with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi networks – so you’ll never have to worry about network compatibility.

Besides these, the Aqara G3 also has the standard features expected of any home monitoring camera:

  • Night vision capability
  • Motion detection
  • Micro SD card recording (up to 128 GB)

All-Round Compatibility

The Aqara G3 supports all major smart home platforms. Connect your camera and view video streams through Google Home, Alexa, or Apple Home through  Apple HomeKit Secure Video protocol.

Besides these smart home platforms, the Aqara G3 can also be accessed and configured through the Aqara Home app, available both on the App Store and Google Play Store.

Local AI-Powered Recognition

Equipped with a powerful NPU processor, the Aqara G3 is fully capable of recognizing faces, gestures, people, and pets through the use of AI – which runs locally within the camera itself.

With this AI technology, you’ll be able to create customized automations, such as:

  • Push notifications to your phone informing you when a person is home – “Kate arrived home!”
  • Automatically switching itself off when it recognizes you when you get home.
  • Gesture recognitions – configure automations to run when hand gestures are recognized.

Automated Cruising and Tracking

Aqara G3 Tracking Singapore

Control your camera’s pan and tilt motor with your smartphone app, or go even further – it’s possible to automate where your camera is pointing.

Examples:

  • View living room for 10 seconds, and then view dining room for 30 seconds
  • Whenever the camera recognizes a dog, track the dog
  • When Window sensor reports window opened, point camera to window

Privacy and Encryptions

The Aqara G3 camera is built around privacy. Data streams from the camera are encrypted. Latest wifi security standards are supported to protect your data. Plus, the camera is certified by Apple, Google, and Amazon to meet all the security and privacy standards of their respective systems.

Furthermore, the Aqara G3 has a hardware privacy protection mode that can be turned on manually or automatically – the camera lens rolls up into the body – and shows a cute, sleepy face!

Control and Automate Other Infrared Appliances

The Aqara G3 has a built-in infrared (IR) controller that can make your existing appliances smart! This includes almost any appliance that can be controlled via remote control – such as air-conditioners, fans, air purifiers, and TVs. Once your appliance has been added into the Aqara Home app, you’ll be able to schedule time-based automations, issue voice commands, and access other smart home functions.

Apple HomeKit Secure Video

A Focus on Privacy

The Aqara G3 fully supports HomeKit Secure Video, including end-to-end encryption directly to Apple’s servers. You can set up the Aqara G3 Camera with the Apple Home app that comes with your iPhone, and never have to use any other external app. Access and review your camera footage using any of your Apple devices. Have the recordings uploaded directly into Apple iCloud, without going through any other servers.

Using Apple HomeKit Secure Video allows you to gain control of privacy-focused settings, such as disabling the camera from streaming and recording when you’re at home, and only enabling it when you leave. It also opens up new possibilities with interacting with the camera and your home, such as two-way audio, facial recognition, and activity zones.

  • HomePod, HomePod Mini, Apple TV, or iPad as a HomeKit hub required.
  • Recording to Apple iCloud requires at least a 50GB iCloud storage plan.
  • It is possible to use the camera with both the Apple Home app and the Aqara app if you choose to do so.
  • The Aqara G3 Camera hub is fully functional using the Aqara app as well, available both on the App store and Google Play store.
  • Apple Home does not support pan/tilt movements, tracking, and other advanced features of the Aqara G3. These features are available on the Aqara Home app.

Homekit Notifications and Activity Zones

The Aqara G3 Camera on the Apple Home app can be set up to send notifications to your Apple devices upon detecting motion in its frame, which is a basic security feature. However, you can take it a step further –  Apple Home also allows you to specify that notifications will only be sent on specific motions – when people, animals, and/or vehicles are detected – giving you a full range of choices to avoid false positives. You won’t be sent notifications when your curtains move!

Additionally, the Aqara G3 Camera supports tracking of activity zones, where you receive notifications of motion of people, animals, or vehicles detected only within an area of the frame.

Homekit-enabled Facial Recognition

The Aqara G3 can process facial recognition through its integration with Apple HomeKit Secure Video, with the AI processes happening in your Apple device itself – not on the cloud. It can recognize faces from your iCloud Photo Library, and can send you notifications for when your family members arrive home.

  • iOS/ iPadOS/ tvOS 14 or higher required for this functionality.
  • HomeKit facial recognition is a separate Apple feature, unrelated to the Aqara G3’s onboard recognition systems.

Homekit Enabled Two-way Audio

Aqara G3 Apple HomeKit Secure Video

The Aqara G2H camera in the Apple Home app supports remote, instant voice calls. The camera is equipped with an omnidirectional, noise-cancelling microphone with a maximum pickup distance of up to 5 metres, and also has a maximum speaker sound volume of 85 decibels for clearer communication.

Your Smart Home Hub

A Camera that Doubles as a Zigbee Wireless Smart Hub

The Aqara G3 Camera also doubles as a smart home hub. Connect up to 64 other Aqara devices to create and control a complete home automation and remote monitoring solution.

By using Zigbee 3.0 technology – every smart home sensor, switch, or bulb connects by Zigbee wifi to the G3, not directly to your home wifi network. This means less burden on your main router and internet traffic, and a more robust connectivity between your smart devices. It also means Aqara smart devices can be designed to run on batteries for up to two years!

The Aqara G3 has full support for Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Alexa, too. You can add your Aqara smart devices into your Apple or Google Smart home, and have them interact with the other devices – even from different brands – in your smart home.

  • Other devices from Apple or Google may be required to set up an Apple Home or Google Home.
  • As Zigbee runs on wireless technology, there is a limitation on range. Range can be increased by using repeater devices, or by having farther devices connected to another Zigbee hub in the area. Devices linked to different Aqara hubs in the same home are interconnected and can interact.

Simple, Continuous Smart Connections

Aqara Singapore Smart Home Products

Having an Aqara G3 camera is all you need to kickstart your journey into smart homes. Gone are the days of expensive systems running proprietary software, and clunky hardware requiring extensive rewiring and renovations.

Aqara’s smart home systems and devices are affordable, modular, and have broad compatibility. You can easily set up the Aqara G3 within your Apple Home or Google Home, and any Aqara smart devices linked to the camera automatically appear in your Apple or Google Home.

Aqara offers a full range of smart devices, all designed with a clean aesthetic. Many sensors can run for 2 years on a single battery, so there is no need for any rewiring. With an Aqara G3 at home, it’s now easy to pick and buy what you need – sensors, switches, or otherwise – and easily and economically incorporate them into a single room — or the whole house. It’s now your choice.

The Aqara G3 can connect to all these Aqara devices, and more:

Easily add smart controls to your existing lights and devices! Just by changing a switch, you open up new ways of interacting with your devices – automations, timers, sensors, wireless switches, and more.

A tiny, battery-operated motion sensor designed to disappear into the background. The Aqara motion sensor can be used to trigger smart devices upon detection of body movements – perfect for entryways and corridors.

Stick these sensors on your door, and you’ll always be aware of your door’s opened or closed state, even when you’re away. Get notifications when a door is opened, or add automations to turn lights on upon door closure. It’s up to you.

Remotely control your smart switches and other smart devices using this battery-operated button switch. Put or stick it anywhere. You can even control scenes – where you change multiple smart devices with a single press.

A highly secure, Apple HomeKit capable mortise smart door lock. Set up biometric identifications or temporary PINs, or use NFC chips to unlock the door. The Aqara N100 also reports its lock status to the various Home apps, and can be locked and unlocked remotely.

This was an overall good camera, but it’s a bit hard to justify the price. Basically, it ticks all the boxes – Apple HomeKit support, PTZ, AI tracking features, plus the gesture recognition was fun. Important to note that you can only enable 1 mode at a time (gesture recognition, human tracking, pet tracking etc), so it won’t be able to do many things at once. You cannot track pet and use gestures at the same time. There’s a lot of features but I realized I won’t be using all of them, and the price is so high.

was excited for the features cos i wanted to control my scenes with gestures and i also want to track the dog, but turns out i can only do 1 function at a time. also, apple doesn’t support moving this camera view even though the camera support.

King of all the cameras! But a price tag to justify it LOL. There are so many ways to use this camera but not forgetting APPLE HOME KIT! The picture is clear and the microphone function is solid!

use it to keep watch over my pets

The gesture recognition is very cool, but there are so many times my smart curtains closed because it detected a gesture while I was talking. Makes it a bit hard to recommend for the gestures. I’ve turned it off so maybe should just have gotten the GH2 cam.

Was gonna get the M2 Hub but realized this camera works as a hub as well, just nice cos I needed a camera for living room. A bit expensive but it works. Note that you cannot control the camera from apple homekit.

Love this camera! The pan-tilt feature is fantastic, can easily check on my entire living room when I’m out. The video quality is also very sharp.

The camera’s good, but had some trouble connecting it to my Wi-Fi. Customer service was helpful but it took a while to resolve. Works well now but was expecting a smoother setup process.

Got this camera to monitor my front door and it’s been fantastic. The video quality is crisp, even in low light.
